The biggest waterfall in the world is the Angel Falls, located in the Canaima National Park in Venezuela. The Angel Falls are also known as Salto Ángel in Spanish, and their total height is 979 meters (3,212 feet). The waterfall is named after Jimmie Angel, an American aviator who first discovered it in 1933.
The Angel Falls are formed by the water of the Churun River, which drops from a tabletop mountain called Auyan-tepui. The water falls in a free fall for almost 807 meters (2,648 feet), and then cascades down in a series of smaller falls and rapids. The mist created by the water falling from such a height can be seen from miles away, and it creates a stunning natural spectacle
